Building Process
An Easy House Extension can be erected in just one month!*
We have simplified the process and use a premanufactured wall and roof panel system which cuts down on disruption to your family routine and the amount of mess and waste.
These illustrations show you what to expect and also provide you with an approximate guide as to how long each element of your house extension project will last, although these of course vary depending on the individual site. We always undertake a site survey prior to work starting and can then give you an accurate schedule of works.
Day 1. Where possible, instead of digging foundations we will use a helical screw pile system. This method requires far less site preparation, is much faster and dramatically reduces the amount of waste and therefore the number of expensive skips required.
Day 2. A concrete ring beam is laid on top of the piles and the foundations are ready to be built on. The frame carries the load of the building through the piles removing the need for mass concrete foundations
Day 3. Once the premanufactured, insulated damp proof floor slab has been laid, our insulated wall panels are sealed, made air and weathertight, securely fastened and bolted together. No mortar, no piles of bricks and blocks, no mess.
Day 4-6 The wall panels will be fitted by the end of the week ready for the roof panels. A strong RSJ will be slotted into the wall of the existing house at this point in readiness for creating the new opening through to the extension later. The house will still be weatherproof and secure.
Day 6-10. The premanufactured, insulated roof panel is carefully fitted and finished with your choice of tile or flat roof covering and velux windows if desired.
Day 11-20. The doors and piers are installed and the structure is now weatherproof. After sealing off our work area to minimise dust and mess, we will open through to the existing house, make good the walls, decorate** and fit the flooring. (read about our real wood floor offer.)
*For a standard size extension without additional works and subject to local ground conditions and access. All timings are subject to site survey.
Excludes manufacturing lead-in times usually 4 weeks from payment of deposit.
Additional works such as kitchen or bathroom fit outs will take longer but a full timetable will be provided prior to work starting.
**Our prices include the cost to decorate your new extension, but we are happy to quote for additional decoration where required.
